Once upon a time
Missy was in line
to receive a crystal ball.
Suddenly beside her
she saw a spindly spider
and yelled so loud she made it fall.

As the people screamed and danced
Missy saw her chance
she grabbed the crystal ball and ran.
She put it in her blouse and as quiet as a mouse
finished leaving before the chase began.

Leaving wizards and witches in a lurch
Missy couldn't go to church, but she set up a gypsy stand.
The people gathered round as she held out her hand
hoping for their fortunes to be told.

But she couldn't see it, so she thought for half a minute
and suddenly that crystal ball was sold!
Why?  The children asked.
She said she only saw the past.

But this she saw so well that she could tell --
though many years behind her, the ones ahead were finer
so they celebrated her birthday and they danced.
