During her career in education, Charity has taught French language to students in grades 6-12 as well as to college students and adults. Charity graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington with a Bachelors degree in French and second Bachelors of Education degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in inquiry-based learning. Charity also served in the United States Army as a linguist. During her time in the military, Charity briefly studied Korean and then completed a semester of Arabic at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California. Currently, Charity teaches French to middle and high school students at a small, STEM school partnered with the Technology Access Foundation in Washington.
