Jennifer Cruz has served as a teacher, central office administrator and principal in diverse communities throughout her career.  Students at her school consistently meet federal accountability measures as a result of research-based instructional practices that honor what students bring to the table.  Her current elementary school was an early leader in Arizona in the implementation of Response to Intervention in reading, math and behavior (PBIS).  Students engage in Project Based Learning throughout the school year, including summer school and after school activities.

Jennifer’s leadership focus has been in transforming school culture through the creation of purposeful communities. She is a faculty associate at Arizona State University, a member of the National Faculty for the Buck Institute for Education and was recently awarded the Administrator of the Year Award by the Deer Valley Education Foundation.
