hello my name is Maria Cristina’m teaching in PBL, we are currently looking for strategies to design a tool to identify, assess and evaluate the educational work also the implementation of the process of PBL at the university. I want to know if there is any tool for this purpose?
Thanks for your help

Thanks for asking about a way to evaluate the quality of PBL. We just so happen to have a draft rubric for evaluating how well a project is designed - see attached. This does not cover how well a project was implemented/managed, nor is it about the extent to which PBL is being implemented across a group of instructors.
We welcome any feedback anyone might have - what works, what doesn’t in this rubric? What’s missing?

Hey, those of you out there who have downloaded this rubric - any feedback? How have you been using it?

I have not used it yet and after looking it over, I think I will begin using it for the next projects I evaluate.  I think it looks like a good tool.

Thanks for asking for feedback. I would like to see some type of scoring process added to the rubric.

Hello and thanks for the feedback. You could certainly add a scoring system to the rubric - like maybe “on a scale of 1-10, you’re a 4” with a 3 point range for each column?
We thought the “rating” on top of each column would suffice, and we didn’t want to make this seem punitive. The main purpose is to give a school feedback, or help a coach identify what a school needs to work on, rather than assign a score the way you would when giving a student a grade.

I have used the rubric. It is an excellent tool for teachers to use to reflect on a previously implemented unit or to help teachers new to the process to set some goals.  I am currently working on a implementation gauge that I will be using later this semester to collect data for my school district.  shoot me an email and I will share once it is complete. .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
