Is there any research on the subject of effectiveness of facilities, structures, buildings, etc. where PBL is implemented?

I would appreciate if anyone can point me to any research on the subject of effectiveness of facilities, structures, buildings, etc. where PBL is implemented. Specifically, what are the MUST HAVES, and what are the NICE TO HAVES…

Also interested in the effectiveness of new facilities vs. retrofitted or converted from “traditional” schools…

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

A friend of mine, David Stephen, was the architect for High Tech High and he was one of the authors of “Architecture for Achievement: Building Patterns for Small School.”  There should be research cited within their work.
