AECT Sessions in Orlando

Jason Ravitz is presenting BIE research and facilitating a session on high school reform.

Description:

Jason Ravitz is presenting results of the national survey of PBL and high school reform in a session titled "Project Based Learning in Reforming High Schools: Transforming Culture and Instruction".  (Thursday, October 6.  8:00-9:00 AM,  Great Hall East).

Findings highlight the role of PBL in reform settings, different teacher perceptions and practices, and their relationship to espoused conditions and principles that do not specify an instructional approach, such as teacher leadership, student personalization, technology integration and community engagement. Another national survey provides baseline data and was partially replicated to support this study.

He is also discussant for a session led by Charles Reigeluth and colleagues titled "High School Evaluation: Determining the Effectiveness of Small Learning Communities".  (Friday, October 7.  2:15-3:15 PM.  Oxford Room)
