What is it? Middle School STEM students will research human limb anatomy and physiology, understand factors that can affect limb structure and function, consider the history of human prosthetic use, design simple functional mechanical devices to accomplish a series of grasping and lifting tasks, and ultimately put their understanding to use as they work within the framework of the eNABLE organization to 3D print and construct mechanical devices for recipients in need.
Why do we like it? This is a well-designed middle school math and engineering project with a completed Project Design Overview and Learning Guide from one of our National Faculty, Rich Lehrer.
How can you use it? Use this for professional development and as a model for completing the Project Planner.
