David Carter National Faculty
Dave has been in secondary mathematics education, as both a teacher and instructional coach, at two San Francisco Bay charter schools networks since 2003. Currently, Dave is serving as an instructional coach for Envision Schools— a CMO with four schools in the Bay that focuses on performance-based assessment and PBL. Dave is passionate about supporting the professional development of math teachers and teachers new to the field. In addition to his core work with Envision, he leads a series of instructional clinics for new teachers, and facilitates the professional learning of a cohort of Math for America fellows at UC Berkeley. He has spoken on instruction and instructional coaching at The East Bay Charter Connect Annual Symposium and the Learning Forward Annual Conference. Dave has a BA from UCSB, and his MA in Urban Education from Holy Names University. Dave lives in Oakland, CA.
