Ian Stevenson National Faculty
As an experienced teacher Ian has over 12 years in the classroom, over 7 of which have been entrenched in PBL co-curricular humanities courses. He is a New Tech Network Certified PBL teacher, and PBL coach and curriculum developer at the Bellevue Big Picture School. Ian gained his M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction, creating a “PBL Management Resource for Teachers” at CSU-Sacramento. His teaching, coaching, and curriculum design brings unique insights into overcoming the challenges of project management especially at the secondary level. Ian has extensive experience integrating Special Education students into general education and college prep PBL classrooms. He brings his deep PBL experience to focus on the multiple shifts required by teachers to successfully engage students with PBL, and to design rigorous authentic projects. Ian taught for 4 years in a New Tech school in Davis, CA before moving to Seattle, WA to lead the PBL curriculum design at one of the latest Big Picture schools.
