PBL in K-2
Through PBL, young children can become engaged learners and start developing effective collaboration and communication skills. Projects can also build literacy skills; in addition to decoding, children as young as Kindergarten need to build the background knowledge necessary for more advanced reading and subsequent studies. In this Webinar, we will explore how the 8 Essential Elements of PBL apply to the K-2 classroom with projects that ignite curiosity in young children and provide the framework to dive deeply into rich, engaging topics, generate questions, explore, draw inferences, and create developmentally appropriate products to demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and skill.
Presenter: Sara Hallermann, BIE District Services Manager & co-author of PBL in the Elementary Grades
Guest Presenter: Sharon Esswein, Literacy Coordinator, Hilliard City Schools, Columbus, Ohio
