March Through Nashville Project Video

In this 7th grade project, students become local historians and research the role their city played in the national movement for civil rights. The driving question is, “How can we as historians design a virtual civil rights museum app that will preserve the story of Nashville's influence on the Civil Rights Movement?" Student teams create a video and use an app to annotate it, for use in the local library. They present their work to a panel of adults, which includes community members.

Learning goals include U.S. and state/local history (civil rights movement) and English Language Arts (various reading standards; conducting shirt research projects; writing informative/explanatory texts; making a presentation using multimedia).
